Accessibility Statement
1. Our Commitment
TASbuddy, A product of Atomsharp L.L.C. ("TASbuddy," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to ensuring that our platform is accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. We believe that inclusive design benefits everyone — not just those with specific accessibility needs.
Accessibility is not a one-time effort but an ongoing commitment. We integrate accessibility considerations into our design, development, and content processes so that the Service remains usable and equitable as it grows and evolves.
This Accessibility Statement applies to the TASbuddy web application and all associated pages accessible at our primary domain.
2. Standards We Follow
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including those with:
Visual Disabilities
Including blindness, low vision, and color blindness.
Hearing Disabilities
Including deafness and hard of hearing.
Motor Disabilities
Including limited fine motor control, tremors, or paralysis.
Cognitive Disabilities
Including dyslexia, ADHD, and memory or attention difficulties.
WCAG 2.1 AA is organized around four principles — content must be Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR). These principles guide all of our accessibility work.
3. Accessibility Features
TASbuddy currently includes the following accessibility features:
Keyboard Navigation
- All interactive elements — buttons, forms, links, and modals — are reachable and operable via keyboard alone
- Logical tab order is maintained throughout the application
- Keyboard focus indicators are visible on all interactive components
Screen Reader Support
- Semantic HTML elements are used throughout the platform to convey structure and meaning
- ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) labels, roles, and landmarks are applied where native semantics are insufficient
- Dynamic content changes are announced to screen readers via ARIA live regions
- Form fields include associated labels and descriptive error messages
Visual Design
- Text and background color combinations meet or exceed a 4.5:1 contrast ratio for normal text and 3:1 for large text
- Information is never conveyed by color alone; icons, labels, or patterns are used alongside color
- Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
- The interface does not use flashing content that could trigger photosensitive seizures
Forms & Inputs
- All form fields include visible labels and placeholder guidance
- Error messages clearly identify the field in error and describe how to fix it
- Required fields are clearly indicated
- Input fields support autofill where applicable
Responsive Design
- The platform is designed to work on a range of screen sizes and orientations
- Content reflows appropriately on mobile and tablet devices without requiring horizontal scrolling
4. Compatibility
TASbuddy is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies and environments:
| Assistive Technology | Supported Environments |
|---|---|
| NVDA (screen reader) | Chrome and Firefox on Windows |
| JAWS (screen reader) | Chrome and Edge on Windows |
| VoiceOver (screen reader) | Safari on macOS and iOS |
| TalkBack (screen reader) | Chrome on Android |
| Keyboard-only navigation | All modern browsers |
| Browser zoom (up to 200%) | All modern browsers |
| High contrast mode | Windows High Contrast, macOS Increase Contrast |
We recommend using the latest stable version of your browser for the best experience. Older browser versions may not fully support all accessibility features.
5. Known Limitations
While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance, we are aware of the following areas that are currently being improved:
- Assessment report exports (PDF): PDF exports of Technical Assessment Reports may not be fully accessible to screen readers. We are working on tagged PDF output. As a workaround, the full report is also available in accessible HTML format within the platform.
- Complex data tables: Some evaluation comparison tables may lack full header associations for screen readers in certain views. This is being addressed in an upcoming release.
- Third-party components: Some embedded third-party widgets (such as the payment form) are managed by external providers and may have their own accessibility limitations outside of our direct control.
- Older mobile browsers: Some interactive features may have reduced accessibility on older versions of mobile browsers.
6. AI & Fairness
Because TASbuddy uses AI to generate interview questions and evaluate candidate responses, we take additional care to ensure that our AI does not introduce or amplify bias against candidates with disabilities.
Our Approach
- Interview questions generated by the AI are based on job-relevant technical skills drawn from the job description, not on personal characteristics
- Evaluation criteria focus on demonstrated technical knowledge, not communication style or response format
- We periodically review AI outputs for patterns that may disadvantage candidates with certain disabilities
- Our AI does not generate or factor in any data related to a candidate's disability status
7. Candidate Accommodations
TASbuddy supports the ability of Account Users (recruiters and hiring managers) to accommodate candidates with disabilities during the interview process. The platform is designed to be flexible enough to support a variety of interview formats and response styles.
For Account Users
We encourage Account Users to:
- Inform candidates in advance that AI-assisted tools are being used during the interview
- Allow candidates to request reasonable accommodations before or during the interview
- Review AI-generated evaluations with awareness that candidates may have responded differently due to a disability-related accommodation
- Ensure that their use of the platform complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Equality Act, or equivalent local employment law
For Candidates
If you are a job candidate and have concerns about the accessibility of an interview conducted using TASbuddy, we encourage you to raise your needs directly with the recruiting organization. For platform-level accessibility issues, you are welcome to contact us at support@TASbuddy.com.
8. Testing & Audits
We use a combination of automated and manual methods to evaluate the accessibility of our platform:
Automated Testing
- We run automated accessibility scans using tools such as axe and Lighthouse as part of our development pipeline
- Automated checks run on every major release to catch regressions
Manual Testing
- Our team manually tests key user flows using screen readers (NVDA, VoiceOver) and keyboard-only navigation
- New features are reviewed against WCAG 2.1 AA success criteria before release
Third-Party Audits
We intend to commission independent accessibility audits by qualified professionals on a periodic basis. Results of completed audits and our remediation plans will be summarized here as they become available.
9. Feedback & Reporting Issues
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of TASbuddy. If you encounter a barrier, experience difficulty using any part of the platform, or have suggestions for improvement, please let us know.
When Reporting, Please Include
- A description of the accessibility barrier or issue encountered
- The page or feature where the issue occurred
- The assistive technology and browser you were using (if applicable)
- Your contact information so we can follow up
Our Response Commitment
We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 3 business days and provide a substantive response or remediation timeline within 10 business days. For urgent accessibility barriers that prevent use of core features, we will prioritize resolution accordingly.
10. Legal Compliance
TASbuddy is committed to complying with applicable accessibility laws and regulations, including but not limited to:
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) — Title III, which applies to places of public accommodation including websites and web applications
- Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act — applicable to federal contractors and electronic content used by U.S. government agencies
- European Accessibility Act (EAA) — applicable to digital services offered within the European Union
- UK Equality Act 2010 — applicable to services offered in the United Kingdom
- AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act) — applicable where services are offered in Ontario, Canada
If you believe TASbuddy is not meeting its accessibility obligations under applicable law, please contact us at support@TASbuddy.com before pursuing formal legal action, so we have the opportunity to address your concern.
11. Changes to This Statement
We will update this Accessibility Statement as we make improvements to the platform, complete audits, or resolve known issues. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
We encourage users and candidates to check back periodically. Significant updates — such as the completion of a third-party audit or resolution of a major known issue — will also be noted in our product changelog.
